The shelves come to the operator

Shelf-to-Person uses mobile robots to carry shelves to workstations, reducing travel and concentrating the picking activity in a controlled environment.

How it works

Orders are released by the system, which coordinates the robots responsible for fetching and presenting the correct shelves to the operator.

Benefits

Less walking; predictable productivity; modular deployment; layout flexibility; gradual expansion; better ergonomics.

Applications

E-commerce, retail, parts, electronics, cosmetics and operations with a wide variety of SKUs.

Published technical scope

the concept covers picking of items, cases, pallets or complete shelves. Mushiny positions the solution for 3PL, retail, e-commerce, fashion, FMCG, medical devices and manufacturing. The architecture uses AMRs to bring the pods to the station and can integrate with the iRES execution system.

How Mushiny describes the solution

In the official technical sheet, Shelf-to-Person (goods-to-person) reverses the traditional “person-to-goods” model: the iRES intelligent dispatching system coordinates T-series AMRs, which automatically carry shelves or pallets directly to workstations. Designed for e-commerce fulfillment, supermarket supply chains and similar scenarios, the solution uses movable shelves up to 2.7 m high working with picking stations, increasing storage capacity by more than 20% within the same footprint. Order optimization and path planning algorithms bring picking efficiency to more than twice that of manual operations and reduce walking strain for the teams.

Safety and quality of Mushiny robots

According to the Mushiny corporate catalog, the robots use UL94-V0 grade fire-retardant material; battery management compliant with the European IEC 62619 and American UL 2271 standards; automotive-grade LFP battery cells; temperature and smoke sensors for abnormality monitoring; charging contacts that act in two steps; lidar obstacle detection with front and rear electronic safety edges; and sound and light alarms. Maintenance includes remote over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, and production follows an ISO 9001 certified quality management system with traceability of the whole process.
